Views from the 16th floor of the hotel.

 自転車とつつじso classic!

In romaji this sign reads:

The fish market can be described as containing anything that lived underwater.

Right outside the fish market was this cute little Shinto shrine. There are hundreds of these all over Tokyo.

This dish cost $10 but was the best cooked fish I have ever had. Might have something to do with the restaurant being half a kilometer from the fish market.

The manhole covers are engraved with Sakura blossoms.

More つつじ

First empty hall in a subway station I had seen in Tokyo!

20 meter high tori gate at the entrance to Yasukuni shrine

Ginkgo trees everywhere!

Doors display the  imperial crest. (a chrysanthemum)

Between the above picture and the one below a great deal occurred which mostly involved a Shinto purification ritual that I must admit I did not really understand but was glad to have experienced  nonetheless. As you may have inferred pictures were not allowed.

'Twas a beautiful little garden.

WWII history museum, we did not have time to go in. I am not sure I would have wanted to anyway, war depresses me regardless of what side I would have been on.

Outer moat of the Imperial palace.

Entrance gate for commoners and foreigners such as myself.

Momiji grow huge here!

This road leads to the actual residences of the imperial family.

Perfectly pruned pines.

Beginning with this picture through the end of this post I was on my own, I managed to get myself to the Ginza district from the Palace and then back to the hotel with no help from Sensei!

Oh, look what I found!

Not very wide but 4 floors high.

Watched a presentation on the AirPlay function of an iPhone and a bit on the Apple TV. was in Japanese of course.

Looking across the street from near our hotel at Shinigawa station.
